About the event
by Gimesi Dóra
Performed in Hungarian.
Recommended age: 4+
The Norwegian folk tale on which the play is based is one of the finest examples of the “animal bridegroom” motif, common in the old treasury of tales: the heroine must travel a long road and live through incredible adventures to free her beloved, the cursed prince who appears in the shape of a polar bear. On her eventful journey she is hindered by a forest come to life, a giant troll and an ice-hearted princess, while three mysterious women, weavers of fate and of stories, help her reach her beloved in the palace at the end of the world, east of the Sun and west of the Moon.
